These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Cultural Enrichment Center’s website, facilities, programs, classes, workshops, events, rentals, volunteer opportunities, and related services. “CEC,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Cultural Enrichment Center. By using our website, registering for or attending a program or event, renting our space, volunteering, making a payment, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. About the Cultural Enrichment Center
The Cultural Enrichment Center is a community-focused organization that promotes creativity, cultural enrichment, education, connection, and community engagement through arts and cultural experiences. CEC may offer art classes, creative workshops, cultural events, youth and family activities, educational programs, performances, community gatherings, facility rentals, volunteer opportunities, and other related activities. Programs, schedules, instructors, performers, locations, pricing, and availability may change.
2. Registration and Participation
Some CEC programs, classes, workshops, and events require advance registration. Participants are responsible for providing complete and accurate registration information. When payment is required, registration may not be complete until payment has been received. CEC may establish reasonable age requirements, capacity limits, deadlines, prerequisites, and participation rules for individual programs or events.
3. Children and Minors
A parent or legal guardian must provide any required registration, authorization, or consent for a minor. Parents and guardians are responsible for providing accurate emergency contact information and any information reasonably necessary for safe participation. Unless a program is specifically identified as a supervised drop-off program, the parent or guardian remains responsible for supervising the child. Additional permission forms, waivers, pickup procedures, or safety requirements may apply to youth programs.
4. Program and Event Changes
CEC may modify, postpone, relocate, reschedule, or cancel a class, workshop, program, performance, or event when reasonably necessary because of weather, emergencies, low enrollment, instructor or performer availability, facility issues, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond CEC’s reasonable control. When practical, CEC will attempt to notify registered participants using the contact information provided at registration.
5. Fees and Payments
Fees for programs, events, rentals, merchandise, or other services must be paid according to the terms provided at registration, purchase, or booking. Prices and fees may change. Additional charges may apply to facility rentals, deposits, damages, overtime, cleaning, equipment, staffing, or other services when disclosed in the applicable agreement or booking terms.
6. Cancellations, Credits, and Refunds
Cancellation and refund terms may vary by program, event, class, workshop, rental, or service. Any specific cancellation or refund terms disclosed during registration, ticket purchase, or in a signed rental agreement will apply to that transaction. If CEC cancels a paid activity, CEC may offer a refund, credit, rescheduled date, or other reasonable remedy based on the circumstances. Certain tickets, deposits, or fees may be non-refundable when that condition is clearly disclosed before purchase.
7. Event Space Rentals
Individuals and organizations renting CEC facilities may be required to sign a separate rental agreement. Renters must follow facility rules, occupancy limits, safety requirements, setup and cleanup requirements, and applicable laws. Renters may be responsible for damage caused by themselves or their guests, vendors, contractors, or invitees beyond ordinary wear and tear. If a signed rental agreement conflicts with these Terms on a rental-specific issue, the rental agreement will control.
8. Community Standards and Conduct
CEC is committed to maintaining a welcoming, respectful, creative, and safe environment. Participants, visitors, volunteers, renters, vendors, and guests must treat others, CEC staff, volunteers, facilities, and property respectfully. Harassment, bullying, threats, violence, discrimination, intentional property damage, significant disruption, dangerous conduct, or refusal to follow reasonable safety or staff instructions may result in removal from the premises or restrictions on future participation.
9. Health and Safety
Participants must follow reasonable safety instructions provided by CEC staff, instructors, volunteers, and program leaders. Some arts, movement, performance, equipment, and group activities involve ordinary risks. Participants, parents, and guardians are responsible for determining whether an activity is appropriate for themselves or their child. In an emergency, CEC may contact emergency services when reasonably necessary.
10. Personal Property
Participants and visitors are responsible for their personal belongings. To the extent permitted by law, CEC is not responsible for personal property that is lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged while a person is attending a CEC program, event, or facility.
11. Photography, Video, and Media
CEC may photograph or record certain public programs, performances, classes, community events, and activities for legitimate organizational purposes, including documenting and promoting CEC programs. When additional consent is required, particularly for certain youth activities or uses, CEC may request a separate photo or media release. Individuals who do not wish to be photographed or recorded should notify CEC staff, and CEC will make reasonable efforts to honor the request subject to the nature of the event and applicable law.
12. Volunteers
Volunteers may be required to complete an application, orientation, training, screening, background check, or other requirements depending on their responsibilities. Volunteers must follow CEC policies, confidentiality requirements, safety procedures, and staff instructions. CEC may accept, decline, reassign, suspend, or end a volunteer placement when reasonably necessary. Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, volunteering does not create an employment relationship.
13. Website Use
The CEC website is provided for informational, educational, registration, communication, and community purposes. Users may not attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious software, interfere with website security or operation, impersonate another person or organization, use the website for unlawful or fraudulent purposes, or improperly copy or exploit protected CEC content.
14. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, CEC’s name, logos, original written materials, graphics, promotional materials, program materials, and other original content are owned by or licensed to CEC and may be protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant permission to use CEC trademarks, logos, or protected materials for commercial purposes without prior authorization. Artists, instructors, performers, photographers, vendors, and other third parties retain any rights they hold in their own work.
15. Third-Party Services and Links
CEC may use or link to third-party payment processors, registration platforms, social media services, websites, or other resources. CEC does not control those third parties and is not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, security, or separate terms. Use of a third-party service may be governed by that provider’s own terms and policies.
16. Privacy
CEC may collect personal information when individuals register for programs, communicate with CEC, make payments, volunteer, rent facilities, subscribe to communications, or otherwise interact with CEC. The collection and handling of personal information may also be governed by a separate CEC Privacy Policy.
17. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
CEC works to provide accurate information and quality programs and services, but schedules, program descriptions, availability, and website content may change or occasionally contain errors. To the extent permitted by applicable law, CEC does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to its website or services and will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of its website, facilities, programs, or services. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
18. Accessibility and Accommodations
CEC seeks to provide welcoming opportunities for members of the community. Individuals who need a reasonable accommodation to participate in a program, class, event, or activity are encouraged to contact CEC in advance so available accommodations can be discussed.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
20. Changes to These Terms
CEC may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in its programs, operations, website, policies, or legal requirements. Updated Terms may be posted on the CEC website with a revised effective date. Continued use of CEC services after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
21. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the extent permitted by law.
