 Workshops

The music and arts education workshops provide a thorough, comprehensive training ground for young people who believe they will pursue an artistic career. Cultivating critical thinking, art making, self-discovery, and technical development—all are objectives of our arts curriculum.

The nurturing instructors at CEC promotes students’ mastery of their unique creative processes, opportunities to collaborate across disciplines, exposure to prominent cultural leaders and artists who enable them to shape their own careers. Whether they decide to pursue college degrees or go directly for professional arts opportunities, our participants grow through training and numerous opportunities to exhibit their artwork as well as to perform, publish, and document their experience.

CEC presents annual events to display the work and talent of all CEC participants, supporters, sponsors, and registered artists. The presentation of these events are fundraising opportunities to help with the materials needed for the workshops. In many cases, these materials are provided free to all participants.

music

The art of arranging sounds in time to produce a composition through the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre.

FINE arts

Fine art is developed primarily for aesthetics or beauty, distinguishing it from decorative art or applied art, which also has to serve some practical function, such as pottery or most metalwork.

dance

performing art form consisting of sequences of movement, either improvised or purposefully selected. This movement has aesthetic and often symbolic value.

THEATRE

A branch of performing arts concerned with acting out stories in front of an audience, using a combination of speech, gesture, music, dance, sound, and spectacle.

We firmly believe in empowering people of all ages to embrace who they are, define their future, and change the world through the arts.

A Space created for

All Arts.  All People.  All Ages

Cultural Enrichment Center is a venue for discovery and inspiration for expression. We offer comprehensive arts education programs that are taught by the best volunteer teaching artists that are available.

The Center is a place for Artists to gather, experiment and grow. We offer a wide variety of programs for different mediums, skill levels and ages. Taking a workshop at CEC is an investment in yourself and your community. Through our workshops we are able to support professional local artists and serve our community with diverse and affordable programming. All donations that may be received also supports our Residency Program, enabling low income families in our area to enroll their children in fulfilling arts programs.

Our program catalog is continually evolving to provide new experiences along with community favorites and CEC traditions. To support our vision of enriching all with inspiring art experiences, the locations we select, both in-person and virtually, offer something for every participant.

The CEC experience is an environment we choose where you can enjoy world class entertainment. We partner with other businesses and organizations that can provide flexible performance spaces for our community festivals and events to showcase our members and participants. Our partnerships with other community organizations and intentional programming of our own, creates a diverse lineup of live events to help fulfill our mission of All Arts, All People, All Ages.

Our workshops are lead by a team of volunteers, interns, and professionals that donate their time and money to this cause.  The workshops are designed to help develop listening and communication skills and introduce the idea of the body rhythm. We start out with activities that are great for energizing a group and building the creative risk to allow everyone to take creative leadership. Teaching is as much about entertaining your audience as informing them. We make our workshops lively, varied, fun and unexpected so that our participants will learn more — and be more likely to come back for more.

We consider our community workshops to meet the highest performing standards for all participants who sign up to participate and the Center encourages all participants to take music appreciation workshops, public speaking, acting, theatre, and cultural enrichment courses.

The Center is firmly committed to preparing our supporters for the demands of a changing global society.

That is why we recommend our workshops, artist development programs, and participation in the College Tours Programs that we provide annually.
